Summer is upon us and that means Kiwis are about to embark on the most social season of the year. With the sizzle of bbq’s and clinking of glasses as friends and whanau gather together to celebrate comes the increased spread of Covid 19.
While many of us may only suffer mild effects from the Covid 19 virus others are not so lucky and are at increased risk of hospitalisation or death.
Paxlovid is an anti-viral medication now available through consultation with an accredited pharmacist where clinically appropriate – No Prescription Needed.
For eligibility for funded Paxlovid treatment you must meet the following criteria;
- 75 years of age or older
- Previously admitted to Intensive Care Units as a result of Covid 19 infection
- Māori or Pacific people
The Pharmacist will run through a series of questions during the consultation to establish if funding criteria can be met.
If you are symptomatic or positive for Covid 19 please do not enter the pharmacy, consultation can be done via phone or family/friend.
